Jamie Williams, Ed. D, Creative Director
Dr. Jamie Williams, serving as CEO, leads the strategic development of YMotion Media, defines its vision and sets the tactical initiatives required to realize that vision. He also develops strategic partnerships and leverages the company's creative resources to capture growth opportunities. In addition, Dr. Williams is in charge of developing feature film projects from the in-house and independent creative pool available.
Leadership and teamwork have been recurring themes throughout his life. He retired in 1995 after twelve years in the National Football League. While completing a Doctorate in Education focused on Management Theory from the University of San Francisco, he teamed with Oliver Stone in August 1995 to create the controversial hit, Any Given Sunday featuring Al Pacino, Jamie Foxx, Cameron Diaz and James Woods. The film was released December 22, 1999 with Dr. Williams serving as technical advisor, actor and writer.
While winning a Super Bowl championship with the San Francisco Forty Niners, Dr. Williams completed a Masters in Mass Communication with an emphasis in film in 1993. He completed two documentaries during this time period: Aids and Society (1992) and The Black Quarterback and the Media (1993). Dr. Williams participated in numerous network and affiliate features, including HBOs Inside the NFL and ABCs Nightline. Dr. Williams has also served as host and panelist for various forums on screenwriting and film. He also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Broadcast Journalism from the University of Nebraska.
Rick Stone, Writer
Rick founded the graphic design agency Paulson and Stone in Campbell, Ca. (currently known as The Stephenz Group). He wrote and designed ads, logos, illustrations, etc. for various clients, including Olivetti, Kenworth, Alphacom, Intel, the San Jose Earthquakes pro soccer team and Planned Parenthood. In 1980, he founded the company in San Francisco, known as City Picture Frame Inc., a three million-dollar a year company. He subsequently sold the frame company and founded the San Francisco company, Mercury Hotfoot. He works on a consultant basis for over thirty art galleries in four states.
Rick began writing screenplays in 1986 and has written 10 scripts to date. Five have been sold or optioned including one for Tony Scott's (and Mike Nichols') producer, Jimmy Skotchdopole. Sleeping with the Lion is in pre-production status with Prodigy Entertainment. The Last Gunslinger is in production status with Gunslinger productions with A. P. Gonzalez as the director. He has also co-written, Jungle Love with Jamie Williams.
Rick attended Pasadena City College where he was the winner of the Bissiri Award for Best Art Student and the winner of the Bockus Award for Best Design Student. He also holds a B.S. in graphic design from San Jose State University. Rick is married, with a brilliant daughter. He writes daily and reads nightly.
Richard Merchán, Creative Artist
Richard brings to YMotion Media over 20 years of experience in the visual communications field. Specializing in advertising and publishing as an all-creative professional, Merchán has worked in major cities such as New York City, Miami and San Francisco, where he had the unique opportunity to learn from the very best in the business. Agency work includes clients such as Saatchi & Saatchi, Grey, Y&R and JW Thompson for accounts including: Steelcase, Itel, Bank of America, Nestlé, California Raisins and Jenny Craig. Publishing work includes Delta Airlines, SKY Magazine, Braniff, TWA Ambassador, Ocean Realm and Upside magazine.
His ability to draw and communicate exceptionally well earned him a reputation as an effective storyboard artist. His illustrations have appeared in The New Yorker, CBS Records and the New York Society of Illustrators. As a fine artist, Merchán is a prolific painter.
